    Joint Bible Study

    February 12, 2017

FBC-PF and Journey to the Cross will begin our first joint Adult Bible Study (ABS) with the text Wind In the Wilderness by DJ del Rosario.
The text is a Lenten Study from the Prophets and I am excited about studying it together.
Copies have been ordered and will be sold on a first-come first served basis.  It is also available as an e-pub from several sources.
The cost is $10 and checks should be made to FBC-PF and given to Sandra Richards.

Our first joint class will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017  from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. (adding 15 minutes to accommodate more people)
The Wednesday class will continue to meet from 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.
But I am inviting the Wednesday class to join us on Tuesday, February 28 so that we might meet and greet one another.

In case the books do not arrive as scheduled please prepare the following:

Read Isaiah 9:6-7; 53:1-6, 9-10 several times from different translations including NIV

            Reflect on these questions
When have you felt like you worked really hard and ended up in a big hole you didn’t anticipate?
    How did you respond?
How did the experience challenge you?
What holes do you see in your community or in society?
Where have you experienced the peace and hope of Jesus?
Loving and gracious God, thank you so much for the season of Lent.  Thank you for this opportunity to slow down,
reflect and ponder what kind of holes we find ourselves in.  Thank you that these holes are never meant to be a
finished product, rather they are a sign of work in progress.  By your grace, we are so grateful for the weeks ahead
of us where we can ponder your amazing love.  We know that the kingdom is coming.  May this season be more
than an opportunity for spouting lofty words; may it also be a chance to deepen our discipleship.  This we pray in your
Son’s name, Jesus the Christ.  Amen.
